“I personally feel Master Kevin Chan‘s Kamon Wing Chun to be the most progressive and pragmatic that i have come across and I am honoured to be teaching for the Federation.”
My passion for Martial Arts began as a small boy when my father inspired me to learn about Boxing as he was a big fan and together we used to watch hundreds of hours of old footage of the champions from days gone by. I took up practicing boxing and continued until my early 20‘s when I saw a local Wing Chun class opening up in my town, and was drawn there due to it being the original art of Bruce Lee.
From my very first Wing Chun lesson in the mid 90‘s I was hooked and took to it with an outstanding enthusiasm, training daily on my newly learnt skills.
I began teaching Wing Chun in 1998 and have studied under five Sifu‘s with various UK based associations which has given me a true perspective of various approaches to the art, all worthwhile in their own right, though I personally feel Master Kevin Chan‘s Kamon Wing Chun to be the most progressive and pragmatic that I have come across and I am honoured to be teaching for the Federation.
In addition to my Wing Chun I am about to start Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with the Kamon Gracie Barra to enable me to become a more well rounded and adaptable Martial Artist and to develop a core of ground fighting skills to benefit not only myself but also my students in the future.
My current classes are based in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk and have a friendly yet hard working core of students that have been with me for a number of years and genuinely enjoy the weekly classes.
I am truly excited about the future with Kamon and I sincerely hope that my enthusiasm filters through to the students to help them in their training and all other areas of their life.
